Personality: Brash, obnoxious and mischievous, a bit of a wind-up merchant, but quite charitable and forgiving. Willing to put herself out for others, even in extreme circumstances. Tends to only follow her own bead on things, unless she can be convinced by someone she trusts. Forthright with her opinion and believes the most direct approach to be the best. While she is obstinate, she isn't argumentative, and will usually just dismiss an opposing point of view rather than talk someone round.

Allegiance (if any, e.g. Umbrella): Hates Umbrella. Quite close with the STARS and various members of the police force because of Burke’s dad (probably also how she got her job). Conflicted about how that whole mess went down.

Appearance: Generally quite dishevelled, she doesn't rate personal grooming very highly. Her long, red hair is usually a mess. She has green eyes that have deep bags under them but sparkle with mischief. She is short at 5’6” and heavy-set with thick, muscular limbs and a solid core padded with fat. She has an hourglass figure with a full bust and wide hips. Has a few scars here and there that aren't all that important to her.

Outfit(s): White long-sleeved t-shirt with a green button-up shirt over the top with sleeves rolled to above the elbow. Black jeans. Heavy, black combat boots.

Strengths: Good with her fists, trained and graded in a number of different martial arts (her only hobby and also her job), robust constitution, lifting heavy things, civic-minded, a lot of street smarts and common sense. Reasonably good with reading body language and tone, as well as knowing people’s limits (necessary for hustling). Creative.

Weaknesses: Limited social skills since she has few friends and spends most of her free time conning people. Dropped out of University, hates academic study. Little to no technical knowledge. Doesn’t make friends easily because she is brash and obnoxious right from the get-go. Tends not to listen to people unless she trusts them, even if they know better. Prone to flights of fancy and her attention span is limited if she is not engaged. Bores easily. Because she has trained mostly with men, has quite a strong misogynistic streak. Recently has developed a deep paranoid streak that has left her with insomnia and a heavier reliance on her vices to switch off (drinking, smoking, betting, fighting).

Romantic Interest: None. Has just gone through quite a bad breakup and is very unlikely to be open to any kind of relationship.

Relationship to other OC’s: Best friends with Ethan Burke (heterosexual life partners perhaps), also kind of like a surrogate daughter to Sean Dresden (Burke’s father and an RPD Captain)
Background: Shak is a second-generation Scot living in America. She was a precocious child and quite tomboyish. Her bigger frame endeared her to being the son her father wanted, and her mother, despite being a very slight woman, had taught martial arts herself.

Shak learned from a young age and trained in various forms of karate and jiu-jitsu. She clashed a lot with her parents through her teens, as she tended to be wayward, and left home as soon as she was old enough to strike out on her own, not because her parents were bad people, but simply because they didn't get on. Their relationship was significantly better long-distance.

Shak enrolled at Raccoon University on a Social Studies programme. She made money by signing herself up as a lab rat, hustling and teaching a self-defence class at the college. There she met Burke, an Economics Major, whom she hassled constantly throughout the course. Eventually she dropped out and moved into his dorm room, refusing to pay rent and generally making a nuisance of herself.

After Burke graduated, she stayed in Raccoon City and got a job with the RPD almost one hundred percent due to his father. This enabled her to start paying back her student loan and afford an apartment of her own, which she invariably only used infrequently.
